Your Guide to

REDNESS

Facial redness is a very common skin concern.

It causes a flushed, red reaction to the skin and irritation and inflammation which visibly results in producing swelling, rashes, or heat within the skin.

What Causes Facial Redness?

Facial redness, flushing, visibly broken blood vessels and skin sensitivity can all be signs of Rosacea. Small, red, pus-filled bumps showing during a flare-up are the trademark of a true rosacea skin. Whether you are suffering from hyper-sensitive red skin or rosacea, it is important to treat your skin gently and avoid UV damage. Introduce new products slowly and carefully.

Facial redness is a relatively common skin concern and is due to the increased blood flow in the superficial facial capillaries. This could be transient (temporary) or permanent. There are several underlying contributory factors which include:

· Genetic Predisposition (Usually people originating from Northern and Western Europe)

· Prolonged UV Exposure (sun damage).

· Spicy food, Alcohol and cigarette smoking.

· Menopause.

· Certain medical conditions such as Rosacea, Thyroid disorders, anxiety etc.

· Certain medications such as Blood Pressure tablets and excessive use of oral Vitamins supplements such as Niacin (Vitamin B3).

How to treat Facial Redness:

It is important to seek expert medical advice if the condition is serious. Eliminating or reducing any triggering environmental and dietary factors (mentioned above) is often helpful.

Skincare products helpful to manage Facial redness include:

· Sun Protection (Sun Blocks)

· Gentle Cleansers

· Topical serums to calm the skin and reduce inflammation and irritation

· Topical products to reduce the size of facial capillaries and reduce excessive blood flow in the area.

Important: It is important to understand that skincare products for any skin concern have to be used regularly (as recommended by product usage guidelines) for optimum results. We recommend using the products for a minimum of 6 months and avoiding any triggering factors to see clinically visible results.

HOW TO TREAT

01.

SPF is Your BFF

The most important product in your routine, spf! Rain, hail or shine – it is so important to protect your skin everyday with sun protection.
Heating + cooling and sun exposure can trigger facial redness. Opt for a sunscreen that uses Zinc Oxide to reduce heat while blocking uva and uvb rays.

02.

Avoid Products
That Trigger Sensitivity

Certain ingredients can strip the skin of hydration and strong active ingredients can trigger a reaction.

Avoid products with a high percentage of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, BHA’s and alcohol content. If you know you are reactive to skincare products in the past, we suggest to always try a test patch on the side of the jaw in the evening to see how your skin tolerates the product.

We also offer free samples on order over $50.00. Reach out to our live chat team if you would like a sample of the product you have purchased included in your order to sample to product before opening.

If you enjoy hot showers, we recommend to not cleanse your face in the shower. The Hot water can trigger and irritate the skin, stripping it further of hydration.
